Many of our
competitors base their marketing and sometimes even the product on
guarantees (for example "Top Ten Positioning" or
"1000s of hits). There are basic flaws in offering this
type of assurance which result in a conflict of interest for the
optimizers:
- Positioning
guarantees - Being in the Top 10, 20, or 30 of a search
query result guarantees you nothing. Placement is determined by
keywords, so you want be (in the top thirty) in the desired
keywords or keyword phrases that will bring the greatest number of
qualified visitors. So being in the top 10 for an obscure
keyword phrase will be almost useless, and yet you will pay for
that listing. It is also easy to get a high ranking in a less
competitive category.
- Quantity
guarantees - Visitors should be qualified, that is, interested
in the products or services on your site and hopefully ready and
willing to buy. It is much easier to bring unqualified visitors to
the site through various methods of deception or deceit. If
you are paying by the visitor or by the click-through, it is in the
interest of the vendor to provide quantity, not quality results.

success you should use is sales, conversions, or ROI, and not
placement rankings or quantity of traffic. This is the approach that
